September 8, 2016 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
AUSTIN, Texas (September 8, 2016) – A new fairy tale-themed Munchkin game comes out this fall, and it's available exclusively at Walgreens – so now Munchkin fans can pick up a new game with all their other necessary drugstore items. (Because let's face it, Munchkin games are necessary.)
In Munchkin Grimm Tidings from Steve Jackson Games, players get all the backstabbing and loot-seeking of Munchkin, combined with the dark, violent themes of Grimm's fairytales. It's a 114-card standalone game for three or four players in one portable package.
The dark tone of these stories inspired Munchkin Line Editor Andrew Hackard and illustrator John Kovalic when they created cards such as the Wicked Stepmother, Poisoned Apple, and Dance Club.
"The medieval folk tales compiled by the Brothers Grimm were far darker and, forgive the pun, grimmer than the sanitized versions many people know today," Hackard said. "That makes them perfect fodder for a Munchkin game!"
Take a long journey in the dark forest with Munchkin . . . when you take a short trip to the corner store.
